The Black Caucus of the American Library Association(BCALA) is pleased to announce its support of Patty Wong’s candidacy for the 2020-2021 Ameican Library Association presidential term.
Her capacity for effective leadership is demonstrated through her 35-year career. Wong is an awarding-winning library leader who has served several terms and held numerous committee positions on the ALA Council and Executive Board. Patty Wong’s contributions to strengthening ALSC, LLAMA, PLA, United for Libraries, YALSA, the Social Responsibilities Round Table, Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table, and the Rainbow Round Table are evidence of her commitment of ALA. A life-time member of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, she is tireless in her pursuit of representation and empowerment of librarians of color.
